Calling AA/PI Graduating Seniors!

We want to invite all the graduating seniors to participate in the

AA/PI Year End Ceremony,

Friday, June 12th, 2009

UCSC Music Recital Hall

2:00pm to 5:00pm.

The AA/PI Year End Ceremony is a graduation event to commemorate the graduating seniors in the Asian American/Pacific Islander community and those who have been involved. AA/PIRC has a student led committee dedicated towards planning it, and each year it has been so much fun for the seniors. It’s also an opportunity to be able to graduate with all your friends. It’s free of charge, and each senior will receive a hand-made sash made by our committee members as a souvenir.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to e-mail Year End Ceremony Coordinator Elisa Torate at etorate@gmail.com, or call AA/PIRC at (831) 459-5349.

This event is sponsored by the Asian American/Pacific Islander Resource Center, Asian Pacific Islander Student Alliance, Community and Resource Empowerment (CARE) Council, and Student Union Assembly.

19th Annual Aids Walk 2009

On Saturday, April 4, 2009, core members of CSA took part in the 19th Annual Santa Cruz Aids Walk.

The route was made up of a 10 kilometer walk, starting from the end of the Santa Cruz wharf, stretches to Natural Bridges, and all the way back to the wharf.  The walk is hosted by SCAP [Santa Cruz Aids Project], in partnership with the University of California Santa Cruz’s SHOP [Student Health Outreach & Promotion].

Thank you to the members who took the time to contribute to the effort,
CSA reached our goal and raised $360+
to fight aids as well as promote HIV-related programs and services in the city of Santa Cruz by directly funding them.
