Banquet Rehearsals!!

Hey everyone!!

Unfortunately due to booking troubles, there will be no banquet rehearsals this week!!! I’M SORRY!! I know you were all THRILLED and looking forward to spending 4 hours with your 2 lovable banquet coordinators, but we will not be meeting next week.

On that note, your banquet coordinators have decided to book 2 rehearsals next week. Especially since we do not have CORE on Monday the 18th!

Tuesday the 19th of January will be our official FIRST banquet rehearsal! I know that this is last minute!! Some people may not be able to attend, but I do ask that you try to make it to as much of the rehearsal as possible!

Again, sorry, but the place has not been set in stone because of booking problems (RAWR lol). But plan on it being at Kresge College. I will post up a map and everything on the next post!

Thanks for your cooperation, I know it is frustrating with last minute changes, but I REALLY appreciate you all working with us!

Keep checking for an update for the room location as well as updates about auditions!

Any questions, please contact the banquet coordinators @ csaucsc.bc@gmail.com

THANKS and have a good 3-day weekend!!

~Monique and Ray

Banquet Ticket Designs!!

I hope you all are enjoying the wonderful time off from school and the time that we have to share and celebrate the holidays with the people in our lives that make life worth it :]

Not to remind you all of school, BUT Lunar New Year Banquet is coming up really soon! (SAT. FEB. 20, 1010!) But before that, CSA is asking for anyone who is art friendly, and computer savvy to submit a ticket design for this year!!

Banquet is the biggest event that CSA puts on every year! This year will be our 24th year of celebrating the Lunar New Year and is the Year of the Tiger.  Students will be exposed to the diverse organizations they normally would have the chance to see. We have banquet to celebrate the Lunar New Year here at UCSC for those that may not have been able to make the trip back home. We also host banquet to educate and teach other students the various Chinese traditions and cultures by celebrating with other students of other backgrounds and experiences.

The due date for the ticket design is Monday, January 11th, 2010 before 8pm via email to csaucsc.bc@gmail.com or 8pm in hard copy form to the Redwood Lounge across from the Baytree Bookstore.

The design does not have to be complete, as the final details are not set yet. But what does need to be included are the following:

  • UCSC’s Chinese Student Association presents Lunar New Year Banquet 2010
  • Date: Saturday February 20, 2010
  • Time: 6-10, Doors Open at 5:30 (tentative)
  • Location: Porter Dining Hall
  • Some representation of the zodiac animal of the year, the Tiger

The ticket below is the ticket design that was used for this past year’s Lunar New Year Banquet. This is what the ticket shape and size will relatively look like. Please feel free to email csaucsc.bc@gmail.com if you have any questions! (Click for full size!)

We are anxiously waiting to see the different designs that you can come up with! ~Love, your Banquet Co’s: Raymond and Monique
